Pedal Bins

Ever wondered why some of our most popular tourist areas suffer from overflowing bins that attracts seagulls and worse? So did we! That’s why we came up with the idea of Pedal Bins.

Rather than disposing of food waste in the big, unsightly bins, Pedal Bins will use a series of smaller caddies that can be collected by an electric assisted cargo bike on a much more frequent basis.

By collecting these caddies more frequently we can avoid the build up of smelly waste and remove the need for the bins that get in the way of the best photos!

The caddies will then be emptied in to one big bin at a specially designed bin store and the big bin itself will be collected and transferred to the Anaerobic Digestion waste to energy plant at Langage just outside Plymouth creating energy and fertiliser in a circular solution to sustainable waste management.

Pedal bins will be kinder to the city, kinder to the planet and kinder to investors pockets as its smaller footprint will cost far less to support.
